The weight of the upcoming announcement made my stomach churn with nerves. As we walked towards the royal council chambers, my hands felt clammy against Kayden and Jayden's. The grandeur of the marble corridors and the echoing footsteps added to the anticipation. The flickering torches casting eerie shadows on the walls did nothing to alleviate the tension building up inside me.
Sensing my nerves, Kayden looked at me, his eyes filled with warmth. He squeezed my hand gently, drawing my attention towards him.
