Prom Night (Part 2)

Kimberly POV   It took me a couple of seconds to react. I glanced up at River and saw him taking a deep breath before I could feel his tightened hold on my hand.   I looked back at Blaise and tentatively smiled at him. I asked him in between my teeth, “Would it be okay for a teacher to dance with a student?” I knew the people near us would hear what I had just asked. However, I was hoping they were into their partners or into the dance so much, they wouldn’t care what was happening around them.   Blaise nodded his head to the side, and I followed what he was pointing to. I could see Ms. Blaire and a few teachers dancing with senior students. I even saw Ryder dancing with Ms. Crawford, the history teacher. I didn’t mind, though. Ms. Crawford should be old enough to be Ryder’s mother.
