“He would like to pass the crown already.”
“No… No, Mom. Tell Dad not to do it.” I knew what this decision would entail and I was afraid of the consequences.
“We can’t do anything about it, Kimberly. It had been decided already.” Mom sighed. “I even told him we should get out of the kingdom to seek treatment, but he didn’t want to leave. Listen, Kimberly. Alice will ascend the throne on her birthday. It’s the same day as her wedding.”
“Mom, that means Felix will be the next king.” I groaned and slapped my forehead with my hand.
“Yes. I knew you wouldn’t like it. Alice had been in training for the position since after graduation. The kingdom will be in her rein. And with Felix’s help, your dad was sure he was leaving the kingdom in good hands.”
