Xavier's pov - one week later I walked into the library of the castle with two steaming cups of mulled wine in my hands. It was almost 5:30 PM, and I'd just finished working, which meant that I could enjoy what was left of the day with my mate, who I hadn't seen all day; she'd had an ultrasound planned for that morning, and I hadn't been able to go with her because of a last-minute call, which then extended into the afternoon. That had upset me more than I wanted to admit, because I'd promised her I would be by her side throughout her pregnancy and because, by now, I was growing fond of that rounded tummy of hers.
