It took me three days to devise the perfect plan. I scoured every book I owned and every one I could find in the packhouse library to find out everything I could on immortal flames. They had various names depending on who you spoke to. Some called it hellfire, others judgment flames. Humans even had legends and folk tales of this flame from supernatural beings bringing it to the ordinary Realm.
From everything I could learn, they were created almost an eon ago by magical beings akin to flame gods. The biggest trick was that the flames themselves were not immortal but their heart. One record claimed that the fire had been extinguished a millennia ago. The flames may no longer burn, but the embers still did.
