CHAPTER 23

2375 Words
News about Nancy’s death continued to bother me even when I didn’t watch the news. Dave called to inform me about it. My mother was busy because of the incident. The police came to our house to question my mom but she had a perfect alibi. Due to what happened to one of the club members, reporters scattered in the vicinity of our building and they made me uncomfortable. Whenever I heard the door opening, I became nervous. It was almost lunchtime when I asked my secretary not to disturb me with anything. I locked my office and focused on the task on hand. I reviewed the payment vouchers from the accounting office and affixed my approval on the page where it’s needed. Afterward, I signed the checks for disbursement and when everything was done, that’s when I went outside and handed it to my secretary. Should I just go home? I slumped back on my chair while deciding whether to go home or work until six in the evening. Then, I’ve decided to review what was written about Nancy’s case. Just like what Keith had said before that it was murder, I believed the same. I saw how that person slit Nancy’s wrist like it was just nothing but a piece of meat! However, the authorities found a suicide note. It was quarter to four in the afternoon when I got a call from none other than Keith Demakis. Should I take it or just ignored him? The call ended before I could even decide and I was about to return his call when he beat me to it. “We need to meet,” he said. “I’m not available today, Keith.” Since last night, I’ve decided not to see him again because it would only cause my downfall or my mom’s downfall. He’s dangerous for me and my mother. However, there was a contract that bound me to him. I sighed in frustration because I couldn’t contact my lawyer to help me get out of it. What I agreed with him was purely confidential and it couldn’t be known to anyone else. “I’ll be waiting for you outside the office.” Before I could ask him further, he dropped the call and left me wondering if he was really outside my office. I picked up the intercom that would connect me to my secretary. “Can you check if someone’s looking for me outside?” “He’s here, Miss.” “What?” I gritted my teeth and returned the intercom. When I got out of my office, I saw him comfortably sitting in the lounge area for my visitors. “Are you enjoying this?” I asked when I got near him. “Do I have to?” “I’ve already told you that I’m not available.” “But you are available now. Common, Cassie. Don’t be stubborn and get your bag,” he ordered. I glared at him for bossing me around as if I was one of his f*****g staff and I didn’t like to be bossed around. “No, I don’t want to go out with you, not today or tomorrow. Is that clear?” Instead of being annoyed or mad, he chuckled at my defiance or he’s just playing to be nice because someone’s looking at us. “I don’t want to repeat what I’ve said earlier,” he warned me. I rolled my eyes at him and continued to defy his order. Who did he think he was? “Why don’t you come to my office so we can discuss this in private?” “Good idea,” he agreed. It’s what I thought but something else happened as soon as he entered the office. He didn’t give me the chance to protest and just conquered my mouth without warning. Before I would be tempted again, I used all of my strength and pushed him away. “You can’t do this to me, Keith.” “Why not, Cassie?” “Because I said so,” I insisted but when he ignored my warning and grabbed me to his body, my knees suddenly became weak. Keith cleared my desk and then he lifted me. My eyes widen in shock that he planned to take me on top of my desk. I shook my head to tell him that we couldn’t do it in my working station. “Not here,” I said while trying to get up when he pushed me to lie down. He then lifted the hem of my skirt until I was exposed to his eyes. “Gorgeous,” he muttered when his hand reached for my underwear. I thought he would pull it down right away but he didn’t. Instead, he caressed my folds on top of my silk panties and I succumb to his touches once more. I arched my back while he pressed his finger on my opening and I wished that he would just pull it down so I could feel his touch in my bare skin. He’s tempting me, taunting me with his skilled finger, and soon I begged him to take me. “Right now, Cassie?” I nodded my head in response and I grimaced when he tore my undergarment instead of being gentle with it. When it comes to s*x, he’s an animal, an untamed one, and I wanted to have him right away. “Yes, take me now please.” His hands fumbled when he unzipped his pants and as he lowered to it his knees, his underwear followed. I gasped for air when I saw his package sprang to life. I swallowed the lump on my throat as I watched him hold it with his hand and guided it towards my opening. I whimpered when I felt his head trying to penetrate my body. “Ohhhh,” I groaned when it’s fully inside. “You’re so tight, Cassie.” “Please Keith, do it now and we’ll talk later,” I ordered him to take me right there and then. He chuckled at my impatience but then he obliged. As he began to thrust his sword inside me, I never take my eyes away from him. I began to understand why women were so possessive about their lovers…especially if a man could perform like Keith Demakis. “Don’t think of anything else, Cassie. Empty your head and allow me to fill you with my love,” he whispered. I nodded my head while I tried very hard to keep my eyes open when I wanted to close them and savored his greatness. “Keith…,” I moaned for his name when he reached something inside me and it tingled. It tingled so much that I wanted to close my legs but he wouldn’t let me. “Yes, sweetie. Say it. Say it that you want me now,” he continued to pressure me with his powerful words. I shook my head to defy his command but he was not a good sport. He increased the tempo of his movement and every thrust made me want to shout for his name. “Ahhhhh,” I panted for my breath when he wouldn’t slow down even a little bit. “F-faster,” my voice cracked a little because it was difficult to speak. “Yeah sweetheart,” he gritted his teeth as he replied and I wondered how much control he employed to talk to me while in the middle of being one. Keith moved faster and he didn’t stop until we’re both out of breath. Our bodies did the talking and every time he moved, I held unto his arms and scratched his skin in the process. He groaned like a wounded animal and I knew that he was almost there. I didn’t let go of his hand because I didn’t want to be left behind. “Open your eyes,” I told him, and when he did, I stared at him before letting it go. He surprised me when he captured my mouth. We moaned together in that position until our lust was satisfied. A few moments later, we sat across each other but it was hard to look at someone’s eyes after what happened a few minutes ago. I tried to sound as professional as I could and he did the same. “Who are these people?” I asked when he showed me another set of gruesome photos of women lying with their blood. “They used to be club members, don’t you recall any of them? I learned that every time there’s a new member, your mom would take them shopping after a meeting.” “My mother is not the killer, Keith.” “I didn’t say that she was the killer, Cassie. With no concrete evidence about the murder, we should start investigating the club. Aside from your mom, who else has access to the girl's records?” “Why do you want to know?” “Because the killer knew their address. Haven’t you noticed? They all died in their home or apartment!” “Yeah, because it’s a suicide, Keith!” “Suicide? No, it was never a suicide. The latest victim wasn’t suicidal and you know her because you used to be classmates in high school.” I was surprised that he discovered my relationship with Nancy. When I transferred to another school, records of my previous school were similar to nonexistent, thanks to my mother’s influence. “How did you know?” “Nancy told me,” he replied. “You knew her?” “She’s an ex,” he answered. “Ah, so you wanted me to help you solve the case because of your relationship with Nancy. Nice try, Keith, but I’m tired. Let’s talk again some other time,” I told him. “Let’s go somewhere tomorrow,” he announced. I had no choice but to go with him if it was related to the contract. “Just pick me up tomorrow,” I assured him that I would be available. Later on, I received a call from an unknown number and I excused myself from him. “Cassandra speaking, how may I help you?” “Cassie, this is Dave.” “Hello, Dave. How are you?” I asked him how he’s doing especially when someone special to him died. I waited for him to mention Nancy but he didn’t. “Are you free tonight? Let’s grab a cup of coffee?”   “Hmmm sounds good to me, what time should we meet and where?” When I looked at Keith, he was in a foul mood and I could tell it from the way he crumpled the document on the table. After he told me about our meeting place, I returned my phone inside the bag and went to the lounge area where Keith was waiting. “Who’s Dave?” He asked. “It’s none of your business,” I replied. “Anyway, I’ve got to go now. So, see you again tomorrow.” Keith groaned when he stood up and left the office while scowling at me. But then, who cares about his mood? He ruined mine when he came unannounced and he shouldn’t feel bad if I ruined his. From the office, I went straight to our home because I needed to prepare for my meeting with Dave. As usual, my mother was not home yet, and it was just okay. When I got inside my bedroom, I immediately prepared the bathtub and played my favorite songs. The warm water on the tub along with the scent of lavender helped me to relax. After an hour, I was in front of my wardrobe and I searched for a perfect dress for a coffee date with Dave. I decided to wear something simple and casual. When I was satisfied with my appearance, I grabbed my bag and proceed to the garage. I arrived on time but he was earlier. He smiled at me and I smiled back before sitting down. “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting,” I said. “You’re just in time, Cassie. Shall we?” I could imagine myself having a line on my forehead because I was confused. “I thought we’re going to have some coffee.” “Yeah, but not here.” “Oh, I see,” I replied and when he stood up, I followed. He stopped in front of my car and I assumed that he had something to tell before getting on his vehicle. “I didn’t bring my car tonight,” he said and I understood what he was trying to tell me. “Oh well, hop in.” “I can be your driver tonight,” he suggested. I stared at him for a moment because I knew that it would be dangerous to give him the control but then, I knew him way back in high school and he was a good boy. “Are you sure?” I asked and when he nodded his head, I decided to trust him.  After a twenty-minute ride, he stopped in front of a funeral parlor and I tried to stop him when he got out of the car. “What are we doing here?” “Let’s have our coffee inside,” he said.
