Suppressing a sigh—fully expecting a fancy pair of earrings or some other expensive bauble that a prince might give to a woman he’d scorned, maybe even belonging to the woman he’d just been romping with—I opened the box.   My breath caught.   “My mother’s ring!” I exclaimed, pulling it out and holding it up to the light. It looked freshly cleaned, so much so that it was sparkling in the light. “You found it!”   Isaac nodded. “I looked all over,” he said, gesturing to his disheveled state.
