CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
I stared hopelessly at the heap of clothes scattered on my bed. How was I supposed to find the perfect dress when I had never been on a date with anyone before?
“Oh! Holy crap,” Jade muttered as she walked into my room.
“I just can’t seem to find a good dress to wear for the date,” I admitted, sinking on the floor with the towel still secured tightly around my body. I had less than an hour before Zayn dropped by to pick me up and up till now, I had nothing to wear.
“Just be yourself. Guys love that,” She advised.
“You mean I should wear jeans and a tank top?” I questioned.
“Yeah. That could work,” she answered, shrugging lightly.
“Really?”
“Of course not. Have you not learned a single thing from all those movies we’ve watched?” She sighed, the pulled me to a stand and quietly dragged me off to her room.
Her wardrobe, unlike mine, seemed to have several pretty sexy outfits. She looked through her clothes before she finally smiled, pulling out a black, lacy dress from the rest. It would probably get somewhere past midway of my thighs but that was one goddamn sexy outfit.
“Try this,” she placed on my arms alongside a pair of black heels.
I walked back into my room, shed off the towel and with fingers crossed, I slid it on. To my utter amazement it fit me perfectly, hugging my curves in all the right places. I gazed at myself at the dressing mirror, admiring just how beautiful that dress was on me.
“Damn! It looks way better on you than it ever looked on me. Gotta admit I’m a little jealous,” I peered at Jade through the dressing mirror. She was standing by the door, with her arms crossed and I smiled back at her in appreciation. She walked towards me, circling her arms around me from the back.
“Do you think Malcom is going to like it?” I asked.
“Malcom?” She giggled, throwing her head back a little.
“I m-mean Zayn. Do you think Zayn will like it?” Why was I still thinking about Malcom again? He didn’t want anything to do with me anymore and I was still day dreaming about him. f**k! I was officially nuts and all this because of one insanely attractive guy with a raven tattoo on his arm, not to mention a panty-dropping smirk.
“He’ll love it,” she answered.
“I’ll miss you,” she muttered, her chin resting on my shoulder
“I’ll only be gone for an hour at most Jade,” I chuckled, smoothening down the dress.
“I know. Let me get your make-up done. We are on mission get Zayn right in and we ain’t wasting a chance of it,” She tagged my arm, puling me towards her bedroom.
“Mission get Zayn right in? Are you crazy? I just had a big fall out with my brother and the last thing I need is to throw myself at his friend,”
“Uh…do I have to point out that you are going to a date with him in a rather fancy restaurant, dressed in a sexy outfit? That is already enough to get him to hit on you real hard. So, your argument is quite invalid if you think about it,” she said, making me sit in front of the make-up mirror as she retrieved her make-up kit.
“No, I’m only going to this date because I had already promised him I would and also because I need a distraction,” I said.
“A distraction? I thought I was your number one source of distraction,” she accused with a small pout on her face.
“Of course, you will always be my number one source of distraction but I feel like I need this date in a way. I just hope he won’t bring up Danny during the date,” I answered as she expertly applied the mascara on my eyes.
“I was just kidding and don’t worry Zayn seems like the guy who would not do something that he knows would piss you off. By the way, don’t forget to ask him about his real name,” She reminded me as she finished the last touches of my make-up. She then helped me put up my hair in a mid bun, fluffing its ends.
Once I was done, I slid into the pair of black heels and as though on cue, a knock reached my ears. I glanced nervously at my dressing wondering if Zayn would actually like my choice of dressing. Why did I care? I was not going on this date to impress him. I picked up a marching purse and walked towards the door, Jade whispering good luck to me. I nodded, took a deep breath, worked up a sweet smile and opened the door to find Zayn dressed immaculately in a dark suit.
“Wow,” He muttered after a second of hesitation. His eyes were a little wide for his face and that made me smile.
“Um... Sorry about that. You just look…beautiful,” he stretched his arm, taking mine like the gentleman he was proving to be of late.
“Thank you and you don’t look bad yourself,”
“Thank you. So a friend of mine, offered to give me his car for the date,” He ushered at the stunning sleek black Audi sitting in front of us.
“Or you mean yours, Gomez Dela Fuente,” I smiled.
“Wait, I thought you didn’t know me?”
“At first I didn’t but then when you are the heir to a multibillion business empire, its hard to miss something that crucial. Besides, this is Maseno and people always talk,”
