A bedraggled Penelope Silvius slumped into her customary chair in the main floor kitchen the following morning, chastising herself for spending the whole night waiting for a phone call from Tobias that never actually came. She should have known when midnight rolled around that he wasn’t going to call, but now that morning had come and she hadn’t gotten so much as a text from the jerk, she felt justified in her annoyance with him.
