“Scandal protocol?” Tobias said, the questioning tone in his voice not going amiss.
“Vidal here is a reporter for the school paper, the Interloper.” Penelope explained as she motioned for their reporter guest to have a seat. “And he just informed me that someone was trying to sell photos of us to him. Of you and me, Tobias.”
Penelope had vaguely mentioned that she’d come up with a few strategies for what they would do if her identity got out, but they hadn’t really discussed it in detail. They hadn’t discussed what would happen if their odd mating situation got out though; they weren’t exactly trying to keep it a secret - but gossip rags loved blowing things out of proportion. It would be so easy to tilt those optics in a distasteful way.
