With a lightness to his steps that he hadn’t felt for weeks, Bai Ruyi went to the grooming table once again to prepare for the day. Qing Xue just watched him in a daze, seemingly not planning to do anything himself.
But when Bai Ruyi began undoing the tie of his sleeping robe, Qing Xue finally snapped to attention. He was once again a ball of self-consciousness as he cleared his throat.
“I’ll go stretch in the garden before I get ready,” he said, already heading for the door.
