  Two things register before I even get my eyes open— pain and warmth.   Opening them, the only thing in my view is tan skin. Pain radiates everywhere as I scoot my arm under my body and push to prop myself up on my elbow. The moment I lift my head, though, Timber is sitting up and helping me like he wasn't sound asleep two seconds ago. Once I get up, he leans me forward and stacks extra pillows behind my back. As I rest against them, I wince at the sting in my back. Lifting my right arm, something tugs, and I look down to find an IV line going across the blankets to a bag at the head of the bed on a small pole.   "How bad is it?"
