ANDY The next morning, I woke with a headache and the uncomfortable realization that I had barely slept. Colt's words had followed me long after he and Linc left, and no matter how many times I told myself that I didn't care anymore, my mind kept circling back to the same questions. What had Mom done? Why had Dad never tried to explain if there was something more to it? And why had everyone decided I wasn't ready to hear the truth? By the time the sun had climbed above the trees, I finally gave up trying to sleep. There was no point lying there torturing myself with questions no one seemed willing to answer yet. I needed air, and more importantly, I needed something to occupy my mind. I pulled on jeans, a fitted black shirt, and my boots, then grabbed my jacket and headed downstairs.
