Maia never listened to a damn thing I said. She used her powers to separate us from our wolves, which I didn’t think was such a good idea here for two reasons. One is that it would put unnecessary risk on our pups, and two being that we would be more vulnerable than we already were. If we couldn’t fight off our attacker, they would easily be able to harm us without our rapid healing setting in before they could. I loved her, but she made rash decisions all the time. I understood that she had been alone a long time before me, but as far as I knew, we were over that part already.
