Christian felt his blood run cold, his arms tightening around his son. His gaze traveled to where Natalia was seated next to Ellen. As though feeling his gaze on her, she turned her face, her eyes locking with his. A small encouraging smile broke on her lips as she gave him a nod. Taking a deep breath, he relaxed his arms around Joshua. Placing a kiss on his forehead, he placed him on the floor, 'go sit with mommy.'
Joshua looked up at him, 'you'll carry me later on your shoulders?'
'Later,' he ruffled his son's hair. He watched him as he skipped to his mother's side before turning to Derek. 'Tell me.'
