Ashton was startled from his nap by the ear-shattering sound of the thunder. He didn't know when he fell asleep, leaning against the back of his chair but when he woke up, he saw that the whole house was illuminated by a weird kind of darkness that he had never witnessed before. It seemed like the last rays of sunshine had gone missing from his life.
