Throughout the lunch, I knew I was going to get a lecture from Mama about Ava. I was taken aback by her behavior in front of my family.
As soon as Ava excused herself, mama cleared her throat and began. “Is that the medical doctor? Are girls who act that way allowed in medical school?”
I stifled back a laugh but I couldn’t lie, the statement was funny. I was as surprised as my mama was about Ava’s behavior.
