Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on my face. I blinked multiple times as I tried to adjust to the brightness.
Letting out a loud yawn, I sat up on the bed and looked around. I let out a scoff when I realized no one was coming to surprise me with cake or balloons.
I could have just kept on sleeping. There was no point waking up and having a sad birthday. I stretched my hand to my side drawer and retrieved my phone.
I wanted to check what the time was. I smiled as I unlocked my phone and saw numerous texts from my siblings and friends.
Nina and Bonnie were the first people who texted me once the clock struck midnight. I couldn’t stop smiling as I responded to their texts.
