I was sitting silently in the back seat for the most part of the ride while Dossam and Javier kept their bickering alive in the front of the car. I was mostly drifting in and out of their bickering. I’d smile at them sometimes or laugh or giggle at one of their insults before being occupied with my thoughts again.
They seemed to have gotten the message to leave me alone for most of the morning because I was not involved in the bickering. Although, I knew well enough that Javier liked picking up on me but this morning, he was mostly keeping his bickering and insults directed towards Dossam. I was internally grateful to him for that.
