Seth woke abruptly in the middle of the night and could feel Briana curled up beside him, still fast asleep. He carefully tucked the blankets in around her, settled back down, and closed his eyes, pulling Briana close to him.

He yawned as he sat up on the bed and looked around to see who was calling him, careful not to wake Briana. He glanced out the window and it was still dark outside, although the stars were clearly visible, white pinpricks in the deep blue sky, reminding him of the year before when he had slept in his father's barn and had watched the constellations moving across the sky every night, feeling as if he were a part of them.
