9 The Nevada Test and Training Range 4,625’ Above Sea Level The eight-seat military Learjet was a seriously sweet ride hustling him from Denver to Vegas in seventy-five minutes. He speed-read the NTSB training manual for his role and had the patter down by the time they landed. He’d always learned fast. At Creech Air Force Base in Nevada they hustled him aboard a dusty, noisy Huey helicopter with an Air Force emblem on the side panel.
