AMELIA went to the old house where Dawn’s parents had lived. Half of the house was burned to ashes and this place had been abandoned for so long that the front lawn was already overgrown with grass. The windows stare blankly at the world, their glass cracked and spiderwebbed. The porch was like a tangled jungle of weeds and vines, their tendrils reaching for the crumbling steps. The house, once a symbol of family, was like a haunting reminder of what was and what will be. It was now a place where nature and decayed leaves entwined, where the past mingled with the rustling of leaves and chirping of birds from a distance. “He didn’t come back.” Amelia sighed and was about to leave when she noticed the strong aura lingering around the place.
