KYLEN RAISED HIS WINE GLASS and took a sip. He wasn’t enjoying the wine; he was just using it as a meditation. He was reflecting on the recent events of his life. The wine allows him to connect with his inner peace. He had mixed emotions of quiet contemplation, subtle joy remembering Dawn, and a touch of sadness as he thought of his life’s complexities. Dawn… His thoughts were filled with Dawn. After he confessed his identity, Dawn left. But at the time, he didn’t know what Dawn thought of him. Her eyes were blank and when she looked at him, he saw the emotion in Dawn’s eyes he hadn’t seen before. Pain. He knew he hurt her by keeping the truth.
