Chapter 30. Attempted Sabotage.
Ruth sat in the back of the cab, her eyes wide with wonder as she took in the skyscrapers and passed places she had only ever seen in the movies, or in episodes of friends. The streets were crowded, with more people than she had ever witnessed in one place. The cars moved at a snail’s pace. They pulled up outside a huge silver skyscraper. The Threshing Floor Corporation sign above the door indicated that they had arrived at the office.
Devon got out of the cab and held the door open for Ruth as she looked around, her eyes wide with wonder.
“Ready, Mrs Millar?” he asked, as she nodded her head.
