Chapter 35 – Go to Him.
Naomi stirred the gravy for the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner, as the potatoes bubbled on the hob, the vegetables steaming on top of them. She let out a soft sigh, wondering if Ruth had managed to convince Devon to come to their home tonight so that he could be with his remaining family. Her daughter-in-law had sent one message since the pair of them had left the wake, before it had even begun, to say that they were okay, and Devon wanted to drive around the area he grew up in. But that was hours ago. As usual, the fear that something may have happened began to form in her mind. She knew it was not likely, but after so many things happening to her over the years, the negative thoughts were never truly far from her mind.
