She tried all her very best to keep herself calm and not establish a scene right in front of everyone. Even though she was really breaking on the inside and it was really hard for her to control her pain, she was literally doing her best in this situation.
But what was really bothering her in this part was she was trying all she could to make her father happy. She was doing all of this just for him. But he was still not ready to acknowledge that this was something she was truly passionate about and wanted this to be a part of her life. He was not ready to ever let this fact ever get to him.
