Chapter 9 Dominic’s POV I had her shower first. I stood outside the door listening to the water run, jaw tight, fighting down the images of her tied, afraid. When it was my turn, I washed fast, needing to be with her, to see for myself that she was safe. When I came into the bedroom, she was already in bed, damp hair spilling on the pillow. Her eyes flicked up at me—nervous, fragile, but searching. My chest clenched. I climbed in beside her and pulled her against me. She tensed, then melted slowly, burying her face into my chest. “I thought I’d lost you,” I said, my voice low and rough.
