“Hey, Darlin’,” I say as I wrap my arm around her and kiss her cheek.
“Daddy!” Abe exclaims, running up to me at full speed. I grab him and toss him into the air. “Have you been good for your mom today?”
“Not really,” he says with a giant smile on his messy face.
Amelia looks frustrated. “I’m not bringing him next time. I’ve had to chase him all day, and my feet are already swollen from the heat.”
“You could just stay home and relax,” I suggest.
She glares at me. She loves coming to the Farmer’s Market. After Archibald was born, she cut it back to just one day a week. She doesn’t really have the time, but it’s her Saturday ritual.
