The days following the end of the fall quarter passed with a lazy slowness that provided a stark contrast to the painful rush of the finals week that preceded it. Savannah completed her second entry for the portrait painting contest despite Cory’s best efforts at distracting her from her work.  While the results of the contest wouldn’t be announced until the end of winter break, with a public viewing taking place sometime in January, Savannah felt strangely confident that though the competition was sure to be fierce, her work would stand out. She wasn’t arrogant as to think she would surely win, but she was cautiously optimistic about her chances.
