Vampires are fast. However, our smell and other senses are stronger than theirs. I don't know how long it has been since Anushka left and whether her parents followed her, but I smell vampires and know there is more than one. However, the smell is faint. We cannot run as fast as vampires can. When we find Anushka, she might have disappeared into the city, and tracing someone in a busy city is almost impossible even for us. That is if these tunnels lead to a big city. She must have left when the fight started. It did not feel that long, but we almost fought the whole day. It is nearly nightfall, and we have not reached the end of the tunnel yet, nor have we seen anyone or anything.
