Chapter Thirty-Nine
The Argo and the Bifröst changed course, ready to reinforce the rest of the UTC fleet. The Puqi and the others had done a good job of cutting down on the enemy forces. Despite the heavy losses and the damage the fleet had suffered, they now outnumbered the remaining Core ships. That should in theory give them the advantage.
In a normal fight, the opposing side would have realized there wasn’t much point anymore. They would have fled or surrendered, but the Core ships did neither.
Erik wasn’t surprised to see none of the Core ships running. Fanaticism might result in higher casualties, but it also assured those same forces inflicted more pain on the enemy.
