Chapter Forty-One
Admiral Lefevre sent out a transmission informing the Core fleet of their losses at Alpha Centauri and the Solar System HTP. To no one’s surprise, their response was to press their attack. This wasn’t a battle where the UTC could break the enemy’s will. There was only one choice: complete annihilation.
The Core fleet had spread out, and a major wing was making an aggressive push toward the city. UTC ships moved to intercept them. The previously balanced lines began to merge and become an overlapping mess.
Three destroyers and a cruiser accelerated in front of the Argo, their cannons and turrets firing at an approaching Core formation. Two other destroyers moved up behind them and turned toward the moon. A small squadron of fighters followed Jia in a close escort patter
