Chapter Forty-Four
Jia leaned against a cargo bay wall in the Argo, her arms folded, letting her thoughts run away from her. The team remained docked with the jumpship in orbit around the moon while they awaited further orders.
After picking up Erik and the others, she’d thought they’d be tasked with helping look for escape pods and other necessary but unpleasant post-battle errands. Instead, the admiral had requested they double-check the situation at the other two battle sites. She didn’t want to leave anything to chance.
It made sense. Admirals usually didn’t have jumpships to bounce around star systems, checking on problems for them. Nobody on the team minded.
