And just like that, a night I could call one of the best in my life was completely ruined.
I didn’t remember leaving the table, I didn’t even remember the neon lights, or the excitement from the games we played. All I remembered was Stella’s voice, cutting through every fibre of my flesh and digging where it hurts the most..
My chest caved in as my breath became laboured. And the tears, God, the tears came like a flood I couldn’t hold back. I walked fast, then faster, until I started running, wiping at my face like that could stop anything.
It didn’t. If at all, it only made it worse.
“I hate her so much. I f*****g hate her so much!” I said under my breath, forcing the words to come out through gritted teeth.
