Kreves stared out the window. It had started to rain, and counting the raindrops helped him calm down. His mind was restless, replaying the words that woman had said hours earlier, "I am your aunt." It was a simple phrase, yet it echoed in his mind, causing his heart to break as he felt the pain of betrayal. He never expected that returning to the house he had abandoned so many years ago would confront him with such an overwhelming truth. The woman who had practically been like a second mother to him, the only one he had ever trusted and therefore loved, had lied to him his entire life.
