The phone rings in my room, waking me abruptly. I jump to my feet and pick it up in a flash. I slept through the rest of the day and the entire night without waking up. My meeting will be at three p.m. and I didn’t ask for a wake-up call. “Good morning Mr. Sudairi.” Silence follows and I have no idea what to say. It takes time to even realize where I am. “Good morning.” I reach for my Rolex on top of the dresser. It’s three minutes past nine a.m. “This is Bálint Huszár speaking. Sorry for disturbing you but your interpreter is here.” “Yes… so?” “You asked me to tell her to be here at nine.” I think about sending Amir to meet her, but he hasn’t called yet and I assume he must be asleep too.
