Mavis stood frozen, her eyes wide in terror, her body stiff with shock as she witnessed the horror unfolding before her. Every muscle in her body screamed for her to run, but her legs wouldn’t move. The scene before her seemed like a nightmare, surreal and impossible. The container holding Eloise was filled with water, and Mavis couldn’t tell if Eloise was alive or unconscious, or if she had even made it through the torment.
