“Toby has told me everything.” Kane confirmed her fears, but he had craftily forgotten (omitted) to add how he had almost strangled Toby when he found out the real truth.
“Okay?” Ariel tightened her arms around her torso, providing a shield for her.
“May I come in?” Kane asked, and Ariel pursed her lips, not sure she wanted to spend the next few minutes confined in the same room with him, especially with how her hormones were raging.
“I guess so.” She shrugged her shoulders, moving aside and letting him enter inside.
