After our short walk around the property and showing Mia the new building site for the orphanage, we made our way back home. On the walk home, Mia decided she wanted to make something for dinner. I tried to convince her otherwise, but after much begging and insisting, I gave in.
We went straight to the kitchen to see Ms. Alma for the ingredients. She grabbed ground beef, two bags of frozen mixed vegetables, beef broth, canned tomatoes, a large onion, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, corn meal, buttermilk, an egg, and vegetable oil. She decided to make beef vegetable soup with homemade cornbread. I have to say that it was beyond delicious and I even added tabasco sauce to mine for a bit of a kick. We finish dinner, I wash the dishes, and we have Liam and Milly put away the leftovers. I
