The nurse comes in and starts an IV, grabs the blood tubes, and then starts the fluids that Doctor Hernandez ordered. They also gave me IV nausea medication called Zofran and IV pain medication called Demerol. The Demerol relaxed me to the point that I started to doze off. The nurse left and came back with an ultrasound machine and plugged it into the wall. She placed a warm blanket over my legs and lifted up my shirt to get to my stomach. “I’m going to try an abdominal ultrasound first. If I can’t see anything that way, then I will do a transvaginal ultrasound.”
