Assistant Being Fired

Arriving at the largely built company with an artistic design of ‘Blackwood cooperation’ at the front, one of the six bodyguards opened the door for me, and I came out of the Lexus model, into the spacious luxurious hall, and walked straight to the private elevator leading to my office.

“Good morning, president Chester! Welcome back boss! How was the business trip?” The fair skinned girl with freckled cheeks, who happens to be my assistant, greets me while opening the door to my office.

“Good morning, Kendra!” I replied, even though she is just a few seconds away from being fired.

“Set up a vacancy position for an assistant, right away!” I said without looking at her, already going through the piles of files on the table.

“Okay, sir! Sir…sir...For an assistant?” She asked, looking confused.

“Yes, Kendra!”

“But…but…what about me, sir?”

“You are being fired, Kendra!” I said, and watched her remove her medicated glass, her eyes going wide with shock.

“B ... .but..but..why, sir? Did I do something wrong?” She stuttered, still in shock.

“Kendra, I don't need to explain myself to you! But, you can ask Sofia that question whenever you see her!”.

On hearing my words, she cleans her eyes, pushes back the eye glass on her face, and then signs softly.

“Yes, sir!” She said looking dejected, and then walked back to her own office. Looking at her retreating figure, I felt pity for her, but then, I saw have been trained not to accept mistakes.

ALEXANDRIA POV

Rubbing my tired neck while rearranging the packs of fruity candles on the supermarket shelves, I feel like going to the spa for a special body treatment, but then, I can't afford to spend money on such luxury since the scholarship fund stuff didn't work out as expected.

Touching the left side of my neck, it felt a little bit sore.

“Hmmm…! How I wish I could sleep at home tonight! I have two performances at the club tonight, and I can't afford to miss it. I need the money more than ever now.

Straightening up, I saw Drake coming towards my direction.

“s**t!” It's been a full, long week now, since the dude kept on disturbing me with calls. Right now, I am not in the mood to listen to his whining about wanting a relationship with me. He smiled, and walked straight to me, when I tried to turn backwards, and escape.

“Alex! Hey, how are you doing?”.

I turned to face him, smiled and then tried to walk away.

“Hey, Alex, Alex! Please, can you give me a minute? Please, Alex! He said, while his eyes soften with an expression I am yet to recognize.

“What is it, Drake?” I said, frowning.

“Alex! I know I'm not perfect, but I am not a terrible person either.

“Yeah!” I scoff at him.

“Why did you suddenly hate me, Alex! I thought we felt some kind of attraction for each other?” He said, staring intensely at me.

“Well…we did, right? I mean the s*x was good, right? Why were you trying to blow up my phone with your calls?” I asked, frowning again.

“Because you locked me out, Alex! You keep hiding, running, pushing me away from you! You wouldn't let me see you! I had no choice but to try and reach you on the phone, and then you blocked me out!” He whimpers softly, his eyes still staring deeply at me. As if he is searching for something, seeking for a clue, to an answer he desperately wants to know about. I shifted backwards, and he did the same.

“Look dude, I don't do relationships, okay! We felt s****l attraction for each other, and then we had s*x, good f*****g s*x! You should be happy!”

“Happy? Should I? Unfortunately, I am not!” He said, with a hint of sadness in his eyes.

“What more do you want, Drake?”

“You, Alex! I want you! For goodness sake, Alexandria! I haven't felt something like this for any woman before!" He said, with so much passion in his eyes.

“Good lines, dude!” I scoffed at his words, and he looked pained at my choice of words.

“Why don't you believe me, Alexandria! Why don't you just give me a chance, to prove to you just how much I love you!” And I widened my eyes at once.

“Yes, Alex! I have fallen for you. I am deeply in love with you, I am going crazily in love with you, Alexandria! Can't you see, or feel it?” He said, trying to place his hand on my heart position, but I quickly shifted backwards a little bit. Thank goodness, no one is around at the supermarket! How could I have been able to explain myself!

“I want you, Alex! Not as a fuckmate, but as my girlfriend! As my partner!” He said slowly, still staring at my eyes.

“That isn't possible, Drake! Okay, I am going to say this for the very last time! I don't love you, and won't love you in the future. I don't do relationships! I advise you to look for someone else to give you the love you deserve!” I said, and I tried to walk away but he held on to my hand immediately.

“But, it's you I want! It's you my heart beats for, Alexandria!” He whimpered. I sigh softly, and then turn to glare at him. He let go of me at once, with the saddest look in his eyes.

Without saying anything else, he turned, and then walked slowly out of the supermarket, without buying anything, anymore. With the look in his eyes, I believe the supermarket just lost a customer, he is not gonna come around as long as I am here.

“Gush! What a hopeless romantic guy! At least, he won't bother me anymore!” I said, and then continued with the pack arrangements on the shelf.
