Elizabeth locked the door to the hotel room and hung her coat up while Sawyer went to put the kettle on and make fresh drinks. She had expected him to talk more about the things that had bothered him in the cafe as soon as they were in the room, and the fact that he didn’t made her a little concerned. He was obviously feeling unsure of himself, and as he handed Elizabeth the cup of freshly made coffee he didn’t even try to smile. “I’m sorry that I dragged us back here after everything. I’m the one who insisted on going out, and this was supposed to be a night where we didn’t have to think about the things we left behind.
