Hope had finally fallen asleep.
Seven weeks old, and already stubborn like her father.
I stood near the inner courtyard doors, rocking her gently before handing her to the nurse for the night. “Be careful, she might wake up when you put her in her crib.”
“Don’t worry, Luna… if she wakes up, I’ll put her back to sleep.” She said, and I nodded, giving her a gentle smile. “Are you going inside? Should I send for one of the maids to be with you?”
“I’ll be waiting out for a bit. You don’t need to worry.” I said, shaking my head at the fact that she wanted to call for a maid. She simply nodded and walked inside, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
