I knew that something went wrong before any of the pack members approached me.
“What happened?” I asked sharply, watching as the wolves gathered, trying to trace something, or even worse, someone… and now was the worst time for that to happen.
One of the deltas stepped forward immediately.
“Seraphina is gone.” The words landed harder than I expected.
“Gone how?” I asked, frowning in confusion as I found myself thinking about Maddie dying and now Seraphina running. “Did something happen to her?”
“She left through the eastern passage. One of the guards reported it too late.” He said, making me frown. “She seems to have run away. I don’t know the reason, but she wore a cloak and blended with the pack members before she slipped through the gates.”
