The pack moved before I finished giving the orders, that was how it should be, no hesitation. No confusion. Just execution. And they knew, very well, that now wasn’t the time to be wasted on speaking over nonsense.
We needed to act as one, and that was exactly what we were doing.
“Double the patrols along the eastern and southern borders,” I said, my voice carrying through the hall. “Rotate every two hours. No predictable patterns. And I want everyone to be on high alert. We don’t know their next move, but we are going to be sure that they understand what it is to try and play a game like that against us.”
“Yes, Alpha.”
“Scouts report every movement, no matter how small. I don’t want assumption, I want confirmation.” The wolves nodded, already shifting, already preparing.
