Cornelia woke up with the early morning sun. Warm rays of soft light fell on her face and her eyes flutter open, still not quite awake. Still dizzy from sleep she rolled over on her back, hitting something hard in the process. She blinked a couple of times and shifted so she was facing her mate. He was still asleep. He was on his side facing her, the slow movements of his chest rising and falling with every breath he took was the only indication of life, otherwise he looked dead as a rock.
