I needed something incriminating against William Laverne. Something that would get him into a very big trouble. So I decided to do some digging.
It was a perfect timing that he went out of town today. I went into his office which wasn't locked and opened up his computer. I scrolled through his emails, searching for any shady dealings or illegal activities.
"What are you doing?"
I jolted in my seat when I recognized Rose's voice. I turned around slowly, painting a smile on my face. "I needed to use the computer. William said he didn't mind," I lied.
Rose raised an eyebrow suspiciously. "Don't you have your own Laptop?"
"It...it's broken," I said.
"Oh. Is there something I can do to help?" she asked.
Something twisted in my stomach. Here was Rose, trusting me so easily and here I was,
