Twisting her Fate

Chapter 3

Leilani closes her eyes tightly, fighting the pain in her chest. How can she still feel pain? Shouldn’t she be numb by now? She tries to swallow past the giant lump in her throat and tries hard to still her trembling body.

Gabriel has already sent her away for no reason. Why the hatred? She isn’t fighting the decision, like everything else in her life, she can only go along with the order no matter how much she doesn’t want to.

Leilani will not fight Gabriel on this. After a couple of days thinking she is actually excited about leaving all this, she has never had much to look forward to in her life, even her meager dreams feel so far out of reach, so even if she spent two days looking forward to her death, at the moment it matters little.

As long as she is away from the half moon pack for once in her life, she will count it as accomplishing something.

Gabriel hooks Leilani’s chin and harshly twists her face up to look down at her. She can feel his fiery breath on her face as he breathes harshly, his entire frame shaking with the exertion of breathing, an angry growl rolling constantly from his chest.

Leilani builds up the slightest bit of courage and looks up into Gabriel’s eyes, his wolf is surfacing and his eyes are the deepest midnight black, an endless abyss of revulsion. Her heart trembles once more and she can’t even stand to look at him.

“Did you hear me orphan? I want you dead. I have never wanted anything more. You are the bane of my existence. I abhor you, I loathe you. I want to see your blood spilled, I want to hear your anguished scream, I want to see your cold dead lifeless eyes”

Gabriel snarls in his best alpha tone.

“Look at me, Leilani”

Leilani tries to hold his gaze but she is so scared that she just wants to cry, she wants to hide.

“Just know that I, future alpha Gabriel, did this to you. I passed down this sentence to you. I never want to see your face again. I never want to breathe the same air as you again, even if you are on the other side of the world, it is still too close to me. Your proximity disgusts me, your scent makes me rather asphyxiate than breathe it, your face and body make me want to vomit. There is nothing about you that is salvageable, you are a wreck, you are valueless”

Gabriel pushes off Leilani violently, sending the small body crashing harshly into the wall once more. He glances at her with a sneer on his lips as he stalks away.

Leilani’s hands shake as she holds the bag to herself and tries to put one foot in front of the other, trying to keep her tears at bay. Her shoulder clips the door frame as she walks out, seeing the idling car waiting for her, her eyes scan as she looks at the mass of people that have come to see her off.

The pack members have vicious sneers on their faces as they watch the same trembling figure walk slowly toward the car.

There is not a single friendly face, either indifferent or downright cruel expressions.

Leilani’s head is dropped so much that her chin meets her chest, she cannot handle seeing the hatred in the eyes of the people that she has never done anything to.

As she enters the car, a loud cheer erupts from the crowd as they all start chattering, laughing and hugging like they relieved themselves of a large burden.

Leilani places her bag in her lap and her hands wring together, her knuckles hurt with the force exerted but anything that helps her keep her tears in. She wants the car to leave but she doesn’t dare say a word.

There is a large thud on the window and Leilani moves her eyes to look and just sees Maggie’s bare ass cheeks pressed against the glass as Gabriel drives into her harder and harder, flesh hitting the glass as the moans and groans of the two enter the open window of the drivers side.

“F*ck Maggie, you are every bit of the woman that I need, you feel so good baby, if I could keep myself buried in you for a lifetime I would be so happy”

“Gabriel, I love you so much”

The thumping against the window gets harsher and harsher. Leilani has long since averted her eyes, just staring out the front windshield. She has no idea what they are playing at and she doesn’t care.

Gabriel thinks he is making her jealous, but even though she is weak, she has more self-respect than to lust after someone as rotten as Gabriel.

The b*tch and the b*stard deserve each other.

Gabriel is smirking as he releases his load in the shewolf, knowing that only a pane of glass separates them and his fated mate.

If Leilani ever had any illusions of grandeur, if she ever had any ideas about him, he hopes that he has ruined them.

Gabriel pulls the woman off the vehicle, keeping her legs wrapped around his waist as he commands the driver.

“Leave now, get this b*tch as far away as possible, as quickly as possible”

Leilani lets out a tiny sigh of relief as she rubs her aching body with small movements to avoid the drivers sneering gaze. Soon, they enter the thick trees from the wide open space that surrounds the pack house and training areas and Leilani feels a sense of serenity settle over her.

Settling back in her seat, she is scared to close her eyes, she doesn’t want to miss a moment of her new-found freedom. Even this brief moment of peace is like nothing she has ever tasted before.

It takes a total of eight hours to arrive at the destination. Leilani looks out the window to a big drive-through wooden arch with a set of large cast iron gates, a guard station is just off to the left and the fencing traveling the perimeter in both directions is topped with razor wire, it looks like an odd mix between a summer camp and a detention centre.

“What are you staring at? Get the f*ck out of the car”

Leilani pulls back her sight to gaze briefly at the warrior that is staring at her with eyes full of contempt. Leilani only nods slightly as she opens the door and alights from the vehicle. She has only been to the pack house and to school in her life, so this is a new experience for her. The second that she is out of the car, the car takes off with a spray of stones, knocking Leilani down in the process.

Leilani pushes herself up and notices a large man with arms as thick as tree trunks crossed over his bulging chest standing staring at her with a piercing gaze. Leilani stands tall and clutches her broken bag in front of her, her slightly blushed cheeks betray her embarrassment.

The man standing at the gate surveils the girl as she walks closer. She is a petite little thing, her face is exquisite and those eyes and hair make it obvious that she is going to be something wondrous to behold a little later in life.

The way she was treated he has seen it many times before. He does his research and can see through a person in an instant. The number of innocents that are sent to this place for nothing never manages to amaze him.

He picks up his phone pressing the call button.

“She has arrived, this years intake is perfect, it is the group we have been waiting for”

He doesn’t wait for an answer before hanging up. Leilani walks up to the closed gate. Her heart rate is spiked as she looks at the man who looks like he could eat her for an afternoon snack.

He is the tallest person she has ever seen. She thought that Gabriel was tall before this, now she knows better.

“H..H….Hello”

“Leilani?”

“T..T..That is me”

Titan nods at the guard who opens the gate. Leilani wonders why they have all the security. One look at the man in front of her makes her think the trespassers would have to be insane.

“Follow me”

Titan turns on his heel and walks over to his waiting Jeep, jumping in without the use of the door, his heavy body hits the seat hard compressing the suspension to the extreme. The roll bars doing little as his head easily clears it.

Leilani throws her bag in and then tries to climb in the back.

“What are you doing? Sit up front”

Leilani nods as she settles in the vehicle. No other word is spoken until they pull up in front of a wooden cabin.

“This is you”

Leilani nods, her voice is low, but she manages not to stutter.

“Thank you”

Titan only nods and watches until she opens the door of the cabin. Her scent is strange. He cannot pick a blood class at all and it further confirms his initial reaction.
