FIRE I wasn't sure what Mason had done to me but I felt much better now. I was still exhausted and could barely stand without trembling, but at least I wasn't on the brink of passing out. Alex had gone to check for an escape route just in case we needed it but she came back looking disappointed as she sat down next to Mason and me and shook her head. "Nothing. I think the only entrance, and exit, is through there," she said as she pointed towards the stairs and I couldn't help but groan. Just thinking about stairs made me want to throw up.
