"What do you mean?" Jade actually laughs.
"I mean that my father is married to Tatiana's mother. That makes her my step sister."
"I still don't get it."
Kara carefully places her glass on the floor before she sits up, fully turning to face Jade.
"If you won't want to be friends anymore, I'll understand, but I'm not sorry that I didn't say anything about any of this. I don't like Tatiana, I don't want to be associated with her, and I sure as hell don't like talking about her. The fact that she's somehow part of my life disgusts, annoys and embarrasses me to infinity."
Jade is staring at Kara with wide eyes.
